Our wonderful mother, wife, sister and aunt, Lynda Barrera Maldonado completed her life's legacy on May 22, 2024.
Born in San Antonio, TX, to her parents, Ernest and Gloria Barrera, she lived a life full of happiness and laughter through countless moments in her 74 years of life. She had a great passion for dancing with her husband Jesse and was an avid Cowboys, Spurs and Longhorns fan. Lynda served proudly as a social worker for the state of Texas for over 30 years. She connected with people of all ages and families to help provide public assistance to those in dire need. Her favorite role in this life was that of a matriarch to her family. If Lynda could leave a lasting message, she would remind us to be kind and give love in an imperfect world.
She was preceded in death by her first son, Daniel Julian Reynolds. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Jesse Jay Maldonado. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jay Ernest and Betina Maldonado, sister, Nadine B. Herrera, and nephew, Leonard Arthur Herrera. She will be dearly missed by the entire Maldonado family and by her numerous life-long friends.
Even though Lynda has ascended away from her surviving family, she empowered them to carry forward in life with how she chose to represent her own: with purposeful and immense Love.
