Our precious mother, Lydia, was called to heaven by the Lord on July 30, 2022, one day shy of her 95th birthday. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 66 years, Raymond Valdez Jr. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Guadalupe M. and Frances Gonzales. She had a large, loving family with 10 brothers and sisters. Lydia and Raymond were blessed with four beautiful daughters, Lorraine, Sandy, Debbie, and Peggy. Her deep love and devotion to her husband and family is her legacy. She will always be loved, forever missed and never forgotten.
In addition to her daughters, the family includes Ronnie Bernal (Lorraine's husband), granddaughters Heather (David, husband) and Samantha; Joe Blanco (Sandy's husband), grandson Joey (Leanne, wife), granddaughter Stacy (Rico, husband) and grandson Matthew; Gerardo De La Vega (Debbie's husband), granddaughter Francesca (John, husband) and grandson Antonio; Eddie Hernandez (Peggy's husband), granddaughter Ashley (Octavio, husband), granddaughter Kara (Marcus, husband). Lydia also had fourteen great grandchildren Joseph, Katryna, Tristan, Ricky, Javie, Alonzo (Blanco), August (De La Vega), Nathan, Camilla (Hernandez), Abigail, Jackson, Hannah, Adelina, Zelda (Bernal).
We will be forever grateful for the love and attention Miroslava Gonzalez gave to Lydia and Raymond. She truly is an angel from heaven. Her son, Carlitos, with his special guitar serenades. We thank Heart of Texas Hospice staff for their care.
