Obituary

On September 14, 2017 at the age of 96 our Heavenly Father received Lupe Arcos to join her husband of 59 years, Cresencio Arcos. She was born on September 4, 1921 in Castroville, Texas and lived in San Antonio most of her adult life.

She worked at Joskee's of Texas where she was renown for selling beautiful scarves. She was a most active parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in San Antonio for 73 years. Lupe was a founding member of the parish's Guadalupanas and for many years she served at the helm of the St. Vincent de Paul dispensary. Her mission was to serve others with kindness and empathy.

Most memorably Lupe Arcos was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Her quest in life was to motivate and guide her children to a successful and joyful life, a goal she accomplished marvelously.

She loved to quilt, was a great cook and found extreme joy in keeping a sparkling clean house warmly open to all those who loved her.

Lupe was born to Merced Pedroza and Santiago Delgado. She was preceded in death by her siblings 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by her four children: Imelda Arcos Villarreal and her spouse Miguel Villarreal of Houston; Cresencio Arcos and his partner Marcia Izaguirre of Castroville; Daniel Arcos of San Francisco, California; and Carlos Arcos and his partner Norman Schack of Houston. As well as her grandchildren: Miguel Villarreal and his spouse Patti Villarreal of Houston; Marissa Owen and her spouse Bobby Owen of Houston; Victoria Arcos of San Francisco California; and Nicolas Arcos and his spouse Beth Arcos of Boulder, Colorado And also by her great-grandchildren: Joshua Villarreal and his spouse Jamie Villarreal; Sarah Villarreal; Jacob Owen; Carly Owen; Summer Owen Craig and her spouse Jason Craig, all of Houston; and Felix Santiago Arcos of Boulder Colorado; and her great great grandchildren Julia Villarreal, and Maggie and Gus Craig of Houston.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to her loving nieces who consistently watched over her in her final years.
