Obituary

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me".  Psalm 23

Louis Sanchez Garza III passed peacefully on July 1, 2022 while surrounded by his wife of 53 years and his daughters and grandchildren. Louis had a fulfilled life. He was born on April 24, 1946 to Louis & Angelica Garza. He was the apple of their eye, being the first-born child in the family. Louis was the role model for his younger siblings, being good parents, good spouses and with the same high work-ethic as he had. He was so loved by his family and is already missed.

Louis is a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School and Southwest Texas University. He had a varied career teaching at Lytle Elementary and Memorial High school. He also enjoyed working for SBC, now AT&T and United Way. He was proud to finish his career with Aetna Insurance. He also loved coaching Little League baseball, playing golf, and working with Golden Gloves. He also enjoyed being a greeter and Eucharistic Minister at his beloved parish, St. Brigid. His passion was his grandchildren, teaching them how to play chess, playing baseball, and coloring with the younger ones. His greatest joy was singing to his grandchildren.

Louis was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy and son, Louis Anthony.

Louis is survived by his wife, Patricia, daughters, Elizabeth Gutierrez (Gino), Sandra Durand (William) and Erica Hernandez (Derrick). Grandchildren: Nate, Alexandra, Analea, Thalia, Gavin, Andres, Ariana, Danica, Cameron,  Dominick, Aaron,  Millana, Makayla, Conner and great granddaughter, Ariella. Brothers David (Laura), Richard (Julie), Eugene and James and sister, Ruth. Brother-in-law Frank Chramosta (Joyce) and sister-in-law Marie Mendez (Joe). There are numerous nieces and nephews.

Louis loved his wife and his family unconditionally. He loved the Lord and chose to be happy no matter the tests that God placed before him.  That love and happiness spread and affected so many people. He will be missed dearly by so many.

"Missing someone is your heart's way of reminding you that you love them." "Pray to the Lord for help, comfort, and encouragement. Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart". Philippians 4:6-7 This is the motto that Louis wants all of us to live by.
