Obituary

Lisa Jeanine DuBois, 44, devoted mom, loving daughter and thoughtful sister, has ascended to her eternal reward. Born Aug. 25, 1971, in Fairfax, Va., Lisa passed from this life on Friday, April 15, 2016. Always a fanatic "guns up" Red Raider, she was an equally spirited fan of her children's sports, academic and extracurricular activities. She proved to be a fierce, loyal advocate of her beloved children and celebrated their many important achievements. Lisa worked as an administrative assistant and had a heart for both giving and helping those less fortunate. In the course of her too brief journey, Lisa created genuine, mutually supportive friendships through her sense of humor and giving nature.

As one of four siblings growing up, Lisa enjoyed competing on the neighborhood swim and tennis teams with her brothers and sister, as well as board games and trips to South Padre Island in the family station wagon. Lisa made lifelong friends while participating on the Winston Churchill High School Pep Squad and in Leo Club. In recent years, she continued the tradition of beach vacations with her own children, while also impressing friends and family with her skills at shooting pool, bowling and cooking tasty meals. Lisa's faith became stronger as she battled her disease, remaining positive and instilling in her children to cherish and enjoy every breath in life.

Her proud parents, Pam and Allan DuBois, daughters Devin and Brooke and son Brandon Sellers will miss her quick wit and infectious laughter in the house. She also is survived by her older brothers, Chris DuBois and wife Toni; Andy DuBois; sister, Becky Fralix and husband Jeff; nieces, Maddie and Abby DuBois; Kailey, Megan and Macie Fralix; and nephews Hunter, Josh, Brett and Zach DuBois; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Col. Keith and Vi DuBois; and Col. George and Genevieve Blakey; and sister-in-law Cindy Kosser DuBois.
