Linda Ann Gonzales, age 54, entered God's heavenly paradise surrounded by her cherished family on Friday, February 6, 2026. Born in San Antonio, Texas, Linda was the very definition of natural beauty inside and out - radiant in presence, generous in spirit, and full of a light that touched everyone around her.
From a young age, Linda's boundless energy was unmistakable. Her natural athleticism and remarkable flexibility allowed her to shine in gymnastics, tumbling, dancing, and cheerleading. Whatever she set her mind to, she approached with enthusiasm, grace, and an unmistakable spark that made her unforgettable.
Linda cherished the many friendships she formed throughout her life, especially during her years at St. Mary's Parochial School, Providence High School, and Our Lady of the Lake University. These connections shaped her, supported her, and brought her immense joy.
Above all else, Linda's greatest joy in life was being a mother to her daughter, Kaylin. She poured her heart into motherhood, always placing Kaylin at the center of her world.
Linda's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her—through her kindness, her laughter, her faith, and the beauty she brought into every space she entered. She will always be remembered as amazing and genuine, a soul who lived with kindness without limits. Though she may no longer walk among us, Linda's spirit remains—felt in quiet moments with nature, in fun memories celebrating the holidays, in the joy of cheering on the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys, and in the enduring beauty of a love that never fades.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Blanche and Joe Gonzales, and her siblings John Anthony Fontanes, Blanche "Missy" Fontanes, and David Fontanes. She is survived by her beautiful daughter, Kaylin. Linda was blessed with an extraordinary family and support system who loved her as deeply as if she were their own daughter, including her aunt and uncle, Susan and Joe Cerda; her aunt Madeline Pell; her aunt Diane Jamison; and her uncle Roland Hernandez. Throughout her life, Linda was surrounded by her cousins, with whom she grew up and formed an unquestionable bond of unconditional love and who cherished her.
Special thanks to The Mendoza Family—Jose, Sylvia, Edward (Eddie), and Samantha—for their unwavering support, as well as the incredibly compassionate staff at Parkway Assisted Living and Kyshonna Johnson, R.N., with Transcend Hospice, for their loving care. Also, Rosa Mendez, for her time and love in caring for Linda.
