Our beloved mother, Lillie G. Rodriguez, was called to her heavenly home on the morning of February 3, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her five children.
She was born on November 26, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas, to Benito P. Garcia and Angelita T. Garcia, who lovingly welcomed her into this world and later preceded her in death, along with her precious granddaughter, Jennifer Marie Nerio.
She leaves behind her devoted children: Cindy Nerio (husband, Arthur), Lisa Lazo (husband, Noel), Yvonne Rodriguez (husband, Alvino), Roy Rodriguez, and Paul Rodriguez (wife, Leslie). Her children were the greatest joy of her life, and her love for them knew no bounds.
She is also lovingly remembered by her ten cherished grandchildren: Vanessa Ramon, Brittany Rodriguez, Eric Nerio, Sabrina Lazo, Roy Rodriguez Jr., Benjamin Perez, Jessica Rodriguez, Matthew Rodriguez, Natalie Perez, and Jacob Rodriguez.
Her legacy of love continues through her nine beautiful great-grandchildren: Isabella Ramon, Sophia Ramon, Benjamin Perez Jr., Uriah Lopez, Elijah Perez, Hunter Jensen Nerio, Jasiah Castellano, Jacell Martinez-Nerio, and Jon Martinez-Nerio. She is also fondly remembered by her extended family, including step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her two sisters, Josie Flores and Tillie Muniz.
Lillie graduated from Fox Tech High School in 1958 and dedicated nearly 25 years of service to San Antonio ISD before retiring in 2003. She took great pride in her work and deeply valued the relationships she built over the years.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures and had a deep love for gardening, music, dancing, and above all, traveling. Travel filled her soul, and she embraced it wholeheartedly, fulfilling her bucket list with memorable trips to Italy, Spain, Canada, Costa Rica, Hawaii, New York, and many other cities & throughout Mexico. She also treasured cruises to both the Eastern and Western Caribbean, along with adventures across the United States. Some of her happiest moments were spent in Rockport, Port Aransas, North Padre Island, and her favorite place of all, South Padre Island, often alongside her children and grandchildren.
Lillie had a beautiful sense of style and always took pride in her appearance. She never left the house without her hair done, makeup just right, jewelry on, and a thoughtfully chosen outfit. She was spontaneous, fun-loving, and always ready for the next adventure. She especially enjoyed sharing meals at her favorite restaurants and ending almost every gathering with a sweet dessert.
Her wisdom, strength, courage, and bold spirit carried her through life's challenges and inspired all who knew and loved her.
