Mr. Leonardo A. Lara Jr. was born on March 10, 1947 and passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the age of 78.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Beatrice Lara; his son, Leonardo A. Lara III (Eloisa Lara); grandsons: Leonardo Lara IV, Caleb Lara, and Jeremiah Lara; sisters, Leonor Rodriguez (Louis Rodriguez), Melba Barbatto, Maria Luise Lara; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leonardo A. Lara Sr. and Maria Luisa Lara; and brother, Luis A. Lara.

Leonard served honorably in the Vietnam conflict.  He was a Production Specialist at Kelly AFB where he retired after 35 years of civil service. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, traveling with his wife and spending time with his grandsons.

He graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1965 and earned a bachelor's degree from UTSA in 1980.  Mr. Lara was a strong advocate of family first.
