Leona Henrietta Poerner Finger, 98, of San Antonio died peacefully on Wednesday.  She was born in D'Hanis, Texas to the late Henry Jacob and Maria Amalia "Mollie" Zerr Poerner on August 16, 1918.  Leona graduated from D'Hanis High School in 1936.  She married the late Joseph Fritz Finger in 1937 and they were married 52 years until his death in 1989.  Leona was an active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and volunteered in multiple organizations over her lifetime.

Leona is survived by her daughters, Carolyn M. Bell and Jane F. Wolf (Ned) and sons, Joseph H. Finger (Linda) and Louis J. Finger (Sharon); grandchildren, Christopher Bell (Margie) and children Melissa, Megan and Kali McKenzie; Charles Bell (Patricia) and children Caroline, Lucas Henry and Jack; Caryn Barnes and children Cannan, Colton and Cooper; Clinton Bell (Shannon) and children Hayden, Tyson and Brooklyn Alexa; Curtis Bell (Dawn) and children Emma, Noah, Zachary and Elise; Joseph H. Finger Jr. (Leah) and children Sage and Carter; Kristina Finger and children Jayden and Jackson; Karol Heinen and children Kaileigh, Keira and Christian; Caitlin Finger Felderhoff (Dustin), Breanne Amalia Finger and Nicolet Finger; Brennan Lee Wolf and Morgan Wolf.  She is also survived by her brother, John Poerner (JoAnn), her sister, Anita Tschirhart, numerous nieces, nephews and relatives; and, her loving caretaker Irene Frausto.  She was preceded in death by her infant son, Joseph, brother, Mervyn Poerner, sisters, Irene Fohn and Effie Bendele, and grandchild Alexa Jo Wolf.

FUNERAL SERVICES

A viewing will be held at 6:00p.m. Friday

at St. Paul's Catholic Church followed by a

Rosary at 7:00p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00a.m.

Saturday at St. Paul's with burial at

D'Hanis Holy Cross Cemetery at 12:30p.m.
