Leon Aleman was born in Martinez, Texas on June 28, 1931. He was the eldest son of eleven children born to Panfilo and Virginia Aleman and preceded in death, brothers-Victor, Alfonso, Luis, and Sixto, sisters-Guadalupe, Irene, Lucia, and Florencia. He has one remaining brother Raymundo and sister Marcella. He was also preceded in death by his beloved son, Jimmy.
Leon joined the United States Army briefly, served his term and then worked Civil Service at Fort Sam Houston for 35 years where he retired kicking back with his loving family. Leon was always a Ford man and was always working on cars and trucks when he retired as his favorite pastime. He enjoyed being outside and always finding something to work on outdoors whether it was gardening, fixing things on the house or just to have an excuse to stay outdoors, even picking up pecans and eating them while he relaxed in his favorite chair. He enjoyed his coffee with pan dulce or a cinnamon roll. He also loved going shopping at HEB almost every day coming home hours later with loads of groceries for his family.
Leon married his beloved wife, Gloria, they were married for 64 years. They had five children, Gloria, Jimmy (deceased April 2012), Norma Jean, Leon Jr. (Patty) and Sixto Louis. They also had six wonderful grandchildren that were all the light of his life-Christopher Gonzales, Kristen Davey (Travis), Pamela Gomez (Jorge), Melissa Aleman (Eric), Alex Aleman and Michael Anthony Aleman and two great grandchildren Aiden and Adelyn, and one on the way due in November, Katie Davey; grandpuppies, Saphire, Charlie and Barton. Leon had numerous nieces and nephews, he will be missed by all of his family and friends but because of his illness, we now know he is resting peacefully with the Lord our God and the family that surround him now.
Our family would like to express gratitude for the condolences and continuous support on behalf of our Father Leon and a special thanks to the Hospice Nurses and staff that came to his aid, comforted and cared for Dad especially Amber, if Dad didn't like her he would have let her know, but he was comfortable with Amber, was very positive and talkative with her. Thank you also to all others that made his life easier. We appreciate all that assisted him.
