Larry Orvin Nichols, 78, of Live Oak, TX, passed away on August 31, 2025. Born on January 21, 1947, in Fargo, ND, he was a devoted husband to Nancy Nichols; a loving father to Shaney Proske and Stacey Harrison and doting grandfather to Dustin Proske, Ian and Emma Harrison.
Larry was hard-working and dedicated. He retired after 20+ years serving in the U.S. Air Force in which he made many life-long friendships. After retiring, he attended St. Phillips and UTSA Colleges. Once he was finished with school, he worked a few different jobs until he decided to go into business with 2 partners to create "Republics Trading and Manufacturing", a steel manufacturing business. A few years later, he decided to retire for good to spend quality time with his grandchildren.
Larry was a man of integrity, kindness, generosity, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Larry enjoyed collecting baseball cards, reading, bowling, going to the shooting range and most of all visiting with friends. His love for our Lord Jesus Christ was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark on us that will never fade.
He is survived by his children, Shaney Proske and Stacey (James) Harrison; grandchildren, Dustin Proske, Emma Harrison, Heather Jewett, and Brittany Sanders; sister, Linda (Joe) Wallace, nephews, Jeremy, Jody (Amy) and Joshua, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
We find comfort in knowing that Dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
