Obituary

Kathryn O. Toudouze of San Antonio was called home to be with our Lord on October 22, 2021 at the age of 85.

Kathy was born in Robstown, TX on August 28, 1936 to Jackson E. Ormand, Sr. and Geraldine Grover Ormand, and grew up in George West, TX. After graduating from George West High School, Kathy, moved to San Antonio where she met her husband of 64 years, William S. Toudouze, Sr.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, with a steadfast faith and strong devotion to Jesus, which she loved to share with others. She instilled in her children a foundation of prayer and Catholic teaching.  She served her church and the San Antonio Catholic community until she was unable to continue due to health. Her service included music ministry, faith formation, administering the Holy Eucharist, bible study, prayer group, adoration and leading retreats.

She exuded joy and love to all she met, with contagious laughter and an infectious smile. She welcomed generations of family and friends into her home. She knew no strangers. Neighborhood and school friends of Kathleen, Billy, Chris and Michelle would congregate at her home daily to enjoy Kathy's amazing baked goods. She was a gifted musician, enjoying singing, playing the piano and the guitar.  She was a stellar and natural athlete who excelled at whatever she wished. She instructed her children in tennis, baseball, softball, basketball (she had an unstoppable hook shot) and even bowling! She also enjoyed reading, quiet time, and visiting with friends. The community was served through her volunteer efforts in the neighborhood, at her children's schools and county elections. She especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren, who adored their "Katchie".

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jackson Edward Ormand, Sr. and Geraldine Grover Ormand; and sister, Mary Deane Ormand Schulz.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Bill; daughter, Kathleen Toudouze; son, William S. Toudouze, Jr. and wife Lisa; son, Christopher O. Toudouze and wife Virginia; daughter, Michelle Toudouze Smithson and husband Chad; grandchildren, Christopher O. Toudouze, Jr., Katie Smithson, Sanders Toudouze, Patrick D. Toudouze, and Aidan Smithson; brother, Jackson E. Ormand, Jr. and wife, Diana; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
