Obituary

Kathy Greco, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on March 21. We will all miss her so incredibly, she was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her.

Kathy was born in San Antonio, Texas. She met the love of her life, Sam Greco, during her sophomore year at Providence High School. During high school Kathy was voted Prom Queen for Central Catholic where Sam attended. She graduated from Providence in 1959. On June 5, 1960, her dream came true and she married her high school sweetheart, Sam. Kathy and Sam have 4 beautiful children, Darrell, Sharon, Diane, and Brenda. Family meant the world to Kathy and her life revolved around them.

Over their lifetime together Kathy and Sam created many different companies. She loved having her family close by and working with Sam made her days extra special. In 1979, Kathy founded Greco Construction, a family owned and operated commercial and residential construction company. In 1988, they founded a very successful child care company named Pecan Valley Child Care Center. Other companies they created are S & K Property Management, SARIKA International which was an internationally traded company that imported goods from all over the world. Kathy served as President of every company they created.

Kathy volunteered her time with many civic organizations she was passionate about over the years. She was the President of Suburban Bankers Auxiliary, a member of Southside Chamber of Commerce, a member of San Francesco di Paola Catholic Church and an avid supporter of Catholic Education, a member and president of UNICO National Club, a member of the San Francesco Altar and Rosary Society, a member and president of the Christopher Columbus Italian Ladies Auxiliary Society, as well as many other charitable organizations. She was proud to be the first woman to become a member of the Christopher Columbus Italian Society.

Our precious Kathy made everyday special but she made holidays and birthdays extra special. She loved to teach her children and grandchildren how to cook and bake Italian family recipes that had been handed down from her and Sam's relatives over the years. Her desire was for her family to continue the tradition of gathering as a whole family in love and peace. She never missed a school or sports event or anything that revolved around her family. Kathy had immense love for all her children and grandchildren.

After Kathy recovered from her long health battle, she devoted herself to honoring St. Francis di Paola for her miraculous healing by attending Processions honoring St. Francis di Paola all over the world. Kathy lived life selflessly in service of God and her family.

Kathy played BUNCO once a month for over 40 years with her friends who will miss her dearly. She was very blessed and grateful to have had all the friends that visited with and prayed for her during all her trying times.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Frederick Fisher, mother Corinne Fisher, and her sister, MaryAnn Batto. She is survived by her husband, Sam Greco, her children Darrell Greco (Karan), Sharon Pirro (Joe), Diane Greco (Sylvia Lopez), and Brenda Greco Bowerman (Karen Mannheimer), her precious 8 grandchildren Wilmot Bowerman IV (Horizon), Nicolette, Nicholas, Samuel, Joseph, Sam Joseph, Katherine and Rudy. Her brother, William Fisher (Annette), brother-in-law Sonny Batto and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
