Our Beautiful Mother Josefa "Josie" Torres Escalante Patino, began her journey on Earth on September 18, 1933. She completed her journey here on Earth on July 27, 2026 to now join Jesus and members of her precious family in heaven! She will be greeted by her precious son David Patino, Jr., her husband David Alcorta Patino, who will be there ready for his dance, her mom Fortunata Torres Escalante, dad Marcelino Escalante, brothers Emilio, Felipe, Angel, Felix, Reyes, and sister, Antonia and many other relatives will be there to welcome her as she begins the next chapter of her journey.
Josie has had a long, beautiful, and spiritual life (92). She was baptized, received her sacraments, was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (Selma, TX), and was a loyal member of the Guadalupana Society (44 years). She graduated with her GED (1988), worked hard, loved unconditionally, and prayed fervently! Josie would pray and light candles for anyone and everyone daily. If you are reading this obituary, she has either prayed for you or is praying for you now!
Josie is survived by her incredible sisters Vicenta Morgan (Wayne), and Teresa Gomez (Ramiro), her precious sons Michael Anthony Gutierrez and Steven, her precious daughters Rebecca Palomo (Richard), Loretta, and Mary Frances. Josie was able to be here to mentor and help mold her 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She loved all of them and prayed for them every single day. Josie leaves behind a legacy of doctors, firefighters, police officers, teachers, and well educated humans to help continue to shine light in the darkness of this world. Josie truly embodied "On Earth as it is in Heaven".
Josie has lived a long blessed life here on this earth. We will miss her and we are eternally grateful for the goodness she instilled in each and every one of us! Praise Be to God!
We would like to give thanks to all the doctors, nurses, paramedics, firefighters, pharmacists, Sacred Mission Hospice, and friends that loved and cared for Josie.
