Jose L. "Joe" Mejia age 51 passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021.  Joe was born in Long Beach, California and he proudly served in the United States Navy.  He was an avid fan of the San Antonio Spurs and Pittsburgh Steelers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Luis Mejia, and brothers, Nick Vara and John Vara.  Joe is survived by his wife, Bridget Mejia; children, Jon-Nicholas and Emilee; mother, Maria Vara; cousin, Ricky Trujillo; best friend, Daniel Gonzalez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin on Sunday, December 19, at 4:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service to be held at 5:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel.

Graveside Services will take place on Monday, December 20, at 9:30 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
