Surrounded by family, Joe W. Wilburn, age 82, passed away November 9, 2018.  He is reunited in heaven with his parents, Henry and Annie Wilburn, in-laws Jose and Adela Serrano, sister Olga Gonzalez, niece Diane W. Zuniga, and nephew Freddy Gonzalez.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 52 years Adelita S. Wilburn, his daughter Cecilia Sheppard (Greg), grandchildren Marie and Luke; sons Joe A. Wilburn (Monica), grandchildren Nathan and Kristianna; Paul Wilburn (Diana), grandchildren Amanda, Natalie, Leslie and great-grandchildren, Emma and Riley; Michael Wilburn (Gina), grandchildren, Aiden and Noah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.

He worked as a masonry contractor for more than 30 years and after retirement he spent much of his time creating beautiful works of art he left with Catholic churches in and around San Antonio and with his family. His joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. He was a direct descendant of the Canary Islanders that immigrated into Texas in 1731.

FUNERAL SERVICES

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, November 13, at 6:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, November 14, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery # 2.
