Mr. Joe Rene Garcia age 79 of Helotes passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014. Mr. Garcia proudly served in the U.S. Army. He had a love for retail where he worked at National Shirt Shop for 23 years, Kmart for 17 years, WalMart for 6 years and at Jam Sports for 4 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Manuela Garcia; brothers, Ruben, Roy, and Ray Garcia; and son, James R. Garcia. He is survived by his wife, Paula P. Garcia; children, Joe Garcia, Jr. and wife Colette, Yvonne Wood Clifton and husband Mike, Sandy De Los Santos and husband Armando, Jeff Garcia and wife Karen; grandchildren, John Michael, J.T., Stephen, Daniel, Joseph, Kevin, Nicholas, Tyler, Emily, Jacob, Michael; great-grandchild, John Michael, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Friday, August 8, at 5:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, August 9, at 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Kenedy, Texas. Burial will follow in Loma Alta Cemetery.
