Jo Ann Hice Castilleja, 77, of San Antonio, passed away at her home on January 26, 2016.

Jo Ann was born in San Antonio, Texas to George & Alice (Bernal) Hice on August 16, 1938.

Jo Ann lived life on her terms and never apologized for it.  She loved her husband, her home, her girls, and her grandchildren.  She had a bawdy sense of humor, loved Judge Judy, the ID channel, cooking, and enjoyed the saying "Well, if you don't have anything nice to say, just come on over and sit by me!"  Jo Ann was happiest when she and husband, Armando, travelled or were on vacation, Las Vegas being a favorite destination.

Jo Ann married Armando F. Castilleja in April 1967 in San Antonio, Texas.  They were married for 48 years.  Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alice, her sisters, Georgia Hice, Alice Rizo, Gloria Rizo, and her grandson Dennis Patrick Duffy.  Jo Ann is survived by her loving husband, Armando F. Castilleja, her sisters: Theresa (Pete) Zertuche, Diana Rizo, and Yolanda Rodriguez, brothers: Danny Rizo and Adam Rizo all of San Antonio, daughters: Carol Jo (Ward "Bud") Cooley, Allison Castilleja, Mandy (Dennis Paul) Duffy, Leslie (Mark) Walton, and Brandy (Barrett) Ketter; five grandchildren: Caleb Tatner, Benjamin Tatner, Emily Tatner, Jessica Walton, and Katharine Duffy and great-granddaughter, Nellita Ramona Pitts; and multiple nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Christus Santa Rosa Hospice for their support in her final days.

MEMORIAL SERVICE

A Memorial Rosary will be held Friday, January 29th at 7:00 P.M. at The Angelus Funeral Home.
