Jimmy Rivas Jr. passed away peacefully on November 3, 2022, at age 74. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on April 8, 1948.  A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Mr. Rivas served in the U.S. Air Force from August 1967 to July 1971, and was a former Vietnam Veteran, earning several decorations and medals.

After the military, he worked in Freight Trucking Companies SMT and Express Carriers for over 30 years.  He enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and his sons. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros and loved outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and golfing in his spare time.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cruz Puente Rivas, father, Jimmy G. Rivas, and brother, Roger James Rivas.  He is survived by his children Desmond G. Rivas and Dennis G. Rivas; former wife and close friend Claudia R. Galindo; sisters Sylvia McIlnay and Susie Millican; and numerous nieces and nephews.
