Jessie Guerrero, Jr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 at the age of 86 surrounded by his family. Jessie Jr. was a beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew, husband, father, uncle, camarada, and friend to many in his lifetime, and was married to his "Muñeca" for 50 years. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and traveled to Belgium and France during his tour of duty where he learned to love crusty bread and regretfully left behind a motorcycle he had acquired during his service there. Jessie was proud to have retired from Kelly Air Force Base after a civil service career of over 30 years as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, where he made lifelong friends and became connected to virtually all other San Antonians by one degree of separation. Jessie loved spending time with his large family and friends more than anything. Jessie also loved music and enjoyed taking his wife, his "Muñeca", to dance at the Fandango Bar or NCO club, and playing the guitar. He was self-taught on the guitar and enjoyed playing with various church choirs and mariachi groups throughout his adult life, especially with his best friend, Rudy Alvarez, en el 'Trio Los Dos'. Junior also liked working on cars, mechanics and engineering, photography and videography, and solving puzzles. For most of his life, he read the daily newspaper in print form, and was known for his archive of old papers. Jessie also had fun taking roadtrips, whether to see relatives in Mexico City, Houston, or Gilmer, or just over to Utopia for a burger. He was loved by many, and openly showed his love with affection and witty nicknames he made up for the unique characters in his life. He will be greatly missed.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Eloisa Guerrero, his sisters, Bertha, Yolanda, and Marina Guerrero, and brother, Gilbert Guerrero and sister-in-law, Laura Guerrero. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cecilia O. Guerrero and daughters, Jessica O. and Cynthia O. Guerrero. He is survived by his siblings: sister, Socorro and Manuel Pastrano; sister, Herlinda Gomez and Pete Cantu; sister, Rebecca and Garry Smith; and his brothers and sisters in-law, Lázaro and Marta Ortega; and Augustin and Longina Ortega. He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews: Nadine; Nicole and Margie; Vanessa; Patricia; Elisa and Dave, Gabriel, Adrian; Carl; Chloe, Rileigh, Regan; Cara and David, Carl Jr. and Brenda, Camilla, Ally, Cash; Dan and Amy; Angela and Mike, Samarah, Ethan, Zachary; Timothy; Brittany, Emmett; Rachel and Steven, Leah; Kristen and Collin, Ransom, Campbell; Christopher; Rogelio and Nallely; Valeria; Daniela Karen; Cesar and Georgina, Andrea, Larissa; Daniel and Erika, Natalia Danery; Carolina, Ronaldo, Renata, Adrian; Elizabeth; Ernesto and Monika, Oliver, Elena.
