Irma Laura Gutierrez, 76, resident of San Antonio, Texas, ascended into God's Kingdom on April 4, 2025.
Irma was born to Fernando and Adelfa (Peña) Júarez, the fourth of six children, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She was a proud student and graduate of the Ursuline Academy in Laredo, Texas (succeeded by St. Augustine High School) where she made many life-long friends. While at Ursuline she discovered her passion for business and speaking French. She furthered this interest by earning an Associate's Degree from Laredo Junior College in Business Administration. Irma's passions extended into law with her work at the Webb County District Attorney's office with Charles "Charley" Borchers, former District Attorney.
Irma will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and Catholic. For over a decade she served as a faithful member of Perpetual Adoration at St. Matthew Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. She embraced God's call to service by volunteering her time at the Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, where she also helped raise charitable contributions. Irma was a proud "Aggie" Mom and served as a leader of the San Antonio Aggie Moms' Club. She loved traveling and took frequent trips to New York City and Seattle, Washington.
Irma is survived by her husband Anibal A. Gutierrez, Jr., only son Carlos Eduardo (Kristin) Gutierrez, two granddaughters Eva and Livia, and siblings Adelfa (Orfelio) Júarez de Quintanilla, Norma (Rogelio) Júarez de Soto, Fernando (Sara Dennis) Júarez Peña, Armando (Eloisa) Júarez Peña and Jorge (Nancy) Júarez Peña. Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.
