Irene C. Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas, was born on March 20, 1935 and passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024 at the age of 89.

Irene was preceded in death by her mother, Carolina Carmona Gutierrez, her sisters, Herlinda Gutierrez Cantu, Janie Hernandez, Flora Hernandez, and her brothers, Lawrence Gutierrez, Benny Gutierrez, and Sofio Gutierrez. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families who will always remember her fondly for her beautiful spirit, never-ending kindness, and love.

Irene loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Iglesia Bautista Los Angeles Heights.  She was a devoted caretaker of her disabled sister, Flora.  In her spare time, she enjoyed arts and crafts as well as singing and dancing. Irene made friends wherever she went. Her presence was a joy to anyone she spent time with.

The family would like to thank Parklane West Nursing Home where she received excellent care in her final years.
