Irene A. Gutierrez age 88 of San Antonio, went to her eternal rest on January 3, 2015. She was born and raised in Fall City, Texas and moved to San Antonio, graduated from Fox Tech High School, Class of 1945, with honors. In June of that same year, she married Antonio T. Gutierrez and together they opened Tony's Food Center on Elm and Crockett, later relocated to 2550 Culebra Road. Irene devoted her life to her husband, children, and the family business, running the operations side of the business. Full of laughter, Irene brought joy to those around her. She had a contagious laugh that brought life to any party. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Eloisa (Flores) Amador; brother, Manuel Amador; and great-grandson, Joshua A. Garcia. Irene is survived by her husband of 69 years, Antonio Trevino Gutierrez; children, Antonio "Tony" A. Gutierrez (Gloria), Imelda Campos (Richard), Xavier "Jay" Gutierrez (Pearl V.), and Marcella "Marcy" Gutierrez (Mary Ann Contreras); sisters, Helen Rodriguez and Belia Gonzales (Philip); grandchildren, Lorraine Y. Roussin, Rhonica A. Stewart, Richard A. Campos, Jessica Gregory, Marcos E. Campos, Anthony J. Gutierrez, and Andrew C. Gutierrez; and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, January 7, at 4:00 PM with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, January 8, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No. 2.
