Irene D. Delgado, joined our Heavenly Father and her heavenly loved ones on July 4, 2025. Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was a woman of strength, a generous heart, and resilience- someone who deeply loved her family and lived a life filled with affection, laughter, and quiet determination.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Irene was one of those rare souls who could make anyone feel like family. Her warm spirit and tireless dedication touched the lives of all who knew her.
Irene worked at Joske's in her early years. Never one to back away from a challenge, she returned to college in the 1970s and earned her credentials as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. In the early 80s, her passion for customer service led her to become a department manager at Le Feria department store. She later worked as a Mechanic's Assistant at Kelly Air Force Base, proving that her work ethic and versatility knew no bounds.
She was preceded in death by her children Ramiro Jr. and Terry Bayala Torres; her mother and father; two brothers; two sisters and her ex-husband, Ramiro Delgado Sr.
She leaves behind four loving children: Carmen and husband Arthur, Joe and wife Marie, Becky, Henry and wife Vangie; sisters, Carmen and husband Phil, Bertha (Bebo) and Jack, and Mary Ester and Julie; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless dear friends she treated as family. Some of her final words were simple and powerful: "Please tell everyone that I love them very much, and I will never forget any of them."
Her legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to family will live on in all who were lucky enough to know her.
