Ignacio C. Diaz entered into eternal rest with our Lord on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024.

Born on July 31st, 1924 in San Antonio, Texas, Ignacio lived a simple but hard working life. In 1943, he served in the United States Army and received distinguished honors for his courageous service in the South Pacific during World War II. In 1946, Ignacio married Susanna Munoz and celebrated 62 years of marriage. They were blessed with two children who honorably and lovingly cared for their parents. As owner of Kirby Upholstery Shop, Ignacio shared his artistic talent, creativity and attention to detail with many valued customers. His passion was to make good use of any material for his many projects, even until the age of 99. Ignacio's knowledge of history, his ability to converse about many topics and his sense of humor have made wonderful memories that his family will continue to cherish.

Ignacio was preceded in death by his mother, Simona Diaz, wife, Susanna M. Diaz, daughter, Gloria Diaz, sisters, Anita Franco and Maria Garcia and his brothers Antonio and Julian Diaz.

Ignacio is survived by his son, Gilbert Diaz Sr. (Julie), granddaughter Erika Valderrama (Stephen), grandsons Gilbert Diaz Jr., Roland Diaz, Dean Critzer and Ernest Cansino, and five great-grandchildren.
