Humberto Rodriguez Hernandez, born on September 23, 1934 in Monterrey, Mexico, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the age of 89. He was a master Masonry Bricklayer, having honed his craft since the tender age of 12. His journey led him to the United States in his early 20s, where he met his beloved wife Carolina, at her parents' restaurant. Their love story blossomed, culminating in 59 years of cherished marriage.
Humberto's hands were his tools of creation, crafting masonry masterpieces and tending to his beautiful stone-set home where he built a life filled with love and laughter. He dedicated his life to his craft, traveling far and wide to build structures that will stand as a testament to his skill and dedication. His days were spent outdoors, indulging in his passion for yard work and fixing things for his beloved family. He also enjoyed working alongside his son at his beloved ranch, where they shared countless memories and built a legacy of hard work and dedication. He found joy in simple pleasures, frequenting flea markets, dining out with loved ones, playing the lottery and listening to his favorite Mexican musicians.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Humberto leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. He is survived by his adoring wife, Carolina, his children Humberto Jr. (Norma Jean), Richard (Maria Natalia) and daughter Lydia, as well as his grandchildren Susanne Aileen (Rene), Christian, Leonardo III (Damaris), Leah Christine Negrete and great-grandchildren, Liam, Luke, and Natalia Marisol, who were the light of his life. Humberto is reunited in eternal peace with his parents, Concepcion and Felicitas, his siblings, Concepcion, Julio, Enriqueta, Josefa and numerous cherished family members.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to his nurse, Roxanne Garza, RN, and caregiver, Asante Trinidad, for their compassionate care during his final journey. Humberto's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Descansa en Paz, dear Daddy and Grandpa. We love and miss you immensely, until we meet again in the heavens.
