Obituary

Our beloved Henry C. Galindo "Tata"surrounded by his family went peacefully to the Lord while

enjoying his favorite meal, a hamburger; on Saturday July 2nd 2016. Tata was born on February

27, 1921 in San Antonio, TX and was the first one in his family born in the states.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Eudosia Cañamar Galindo, father, Yudaleco Galindo, mother-in-law, Elena Ortiz; siblings: Hortencia Galindo, Concha (Jesus) Garcia, Geronimo (Juanita) Galindo, Richard (Mary Louise) Galindo, Ester (Jesus) Garcia, Alicia (Pablo) Gonzalez, Hortencia (David) Rubio, Indaleco (Saraita) Galindo, his little brother Homer Galindo; and in-laws: Maria Cantu, Jose Ortiz, Arturo (Bea) Ortiz, Estella (Mike) Gallegos, brother-in-law, Earl Beasley. Tata was survived by his sister-in-law, Eva Beasley.

Tata graduated and specialized in sheet metal at Fox Tech night school in 1939. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local Union 67 for almost 75 years. One of his many contributions was installing most of the AC units in downtown San Antonio. Tata married the love of his life Elvira Ortiz on June 2, 1945. Tata always said it was love at first sight. They were married for 71 years; together they brought three children into this world. Starting with the eldest child Dianna (Richard) Rieman, Henry Galindo, Charles (Annette Nedea) Galindo. Tata had five grandchildren Jennifer (Patrick Schenk) Rieman-Schenk, Rick Rieman, Scott Rieman, Allison Galindo, Stephanie Bell. Tata also had five great-grandchildren Amanda (Zeuz Moctezuma) Rieman, Christina Rieman, Joseph Herrera, Alanna Wagman, and Alicia Pearl; countless nieces and nephews but in particular Elia and Richard Vasquez.

Tata loved spending time with his Blue Healer Dolly, doing word searches. He also enjoyed watching wresting (until Beeca put a stop to it), Wheel of Fortune, Spurs and Cowboys games. Tata was a master on the Bar-B-Q but his favorite food was Whataburger. Tata loved listening and singing Tejano music. Although he enjoyed all of the above the most important thing to Tata was always family. When asked what message he wanted to leave for all of us he said, "Be good and behave". This immense loss is softened knowing Tata is watching over all of us and is no longer in pain.
