Gustavo S. Cardenas of San Antonio died on November 17, 2022, at age 89. Gustavo was preceded in death by his wife Olga of 63 years. He is survived by sister, Hilda Cardenas and brother, Pedro Renee Cardenas, sons: Gustavo (Eva), Alex, Oscar (Barbara), Javier (Denise), Edward (Marivel) and ten grandchildren: Johnathan, Danielle, Karina, Carissa, Analise, Deandra, Oscar, Sarah, Xavier, and Edward, one great-grand daughter Adelyn, and many nieces and nephews. Gustavo was preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Esperanza Cardenas, brother Humberto Cardenas and sisters Graciela Mosqueda and Marta Cardenas.

Gustavo was born in Nuevo Laredo Mexico and grew up in Monterrey, Mexico. Monterrey is where he met and married his childhood sweetheart Olga Cardenas. They married in 1957 and moved to San Antonio, Texas, where they raised their family.

They were long time parishioners of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.  He retired from Symon's Corporation after 25+ years. Gustavo loved music and dancing; he loved his trips to Las Vegas and especially loved his family and grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family.
