Guadalupe B. Santillan was called home to our Lord on Friday, November 24, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born October 4, 1924, Guadalupe married Alberto Santillan on August 11, 1946 providing a beautiful and loving example of marriage for 42 years to her six children. Guadalupe was a joyful, loving, and spiritual wife and mother who was totally dedicated to her family. Guadalupe was a woman of multiple talents. She was a talented artist, poet, baker, and seamstress, and even worked at the Friedrich Air Conditioning factory during World War II making bombs to support the war effort. She generously shared all her talents to anyone who needed them.
Growing up during the depression era, Guadalupe gave up her education after middle school for her brother to complete his education. But Guadalupe never gave up her dream of education and after years of a self-driven gain for knowledge she returned to a formal education and received her GED at the age of 64 and graduated at the top of her class.
Guadalupe was preceded in death by her husband, Alberto Santillan and daughter Maria Adela Sanchez. She is survived by her sons Antonio (Margret) Santillan and Luis (Mary Helen) Santillan, and daughters: Teresa Santillan, Lisa (Joe) Ortega, Eva (Ernest) Gonzales, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews who loved their "Tia Lupe."
