The beautiful Griselda Arciniega has passed at age 67 after an extended battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband and 5 sons. Born in Chicago on February 21, 1956, Griselda worked to receive a BA in Criminal Justice from Loyola University.
After marrying Ruben Arciniega, the love of her life, the two decided to move to San Antonio, Texas in 1984. Griselda dedicated her life to serving San Antonio for over two decades as a Special Education teacher with SAISD. It was only after discovering her breast cancer diagnosis that she decided to retire from teaching. Griselda was an amazing inspiration to the folks who had the privilege of getting to know her.
She is survived by her husband Ruben Sr., and sons, Ruben, David, Daniel, Samuel, and Vincent Arciniega. She is also survived by her siblings John Rodriguez, Mayo Rodriguez and Delia Moreno. She was preceded in death by her father David Rodriguez, mother Esperanza Rodriguez and brother George Rodriguez.
Family and friends are welcomed to attend her funeral at Angelus Funeral Home on Friday, November 10th with visitation beginning at 5:00pm and a Rosary to be recited at 6:00pm.
Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, November 11th at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with a graveside to follow in Arciniega Cemetery (there will be no procession to the cemetery).
