Gloria L. Vargas, daughter of the late Gabriel and Louisa F. Martinez was born on July 11, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas. Gloria graduated from Fox Tech High School in 1949. She was united in holy matrimony to Paul Vargas in December of 1949. This union was blessed with 4 children. She retired from Kelly Air Force Base after 30 years in 1988. Gloria and Paul were able to travel and enjoy their retirement filled with their friends and family for over 29 years.

She quietly departed this life on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the age of 86 years old surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Bertha M. Perera, and Balbina Martinez. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her devoted spouse of 68 years and her children; Loretta (Robert) Rangel, Ben Vargas, Valerie Vargas, Roland (Michelle) Vargas; grandchildren, Adriana (Nick) Brown, Vanessa (Rob) Dawson, Gabriela Rangel, Thomas Vargas and Matthew Vargas; great grandchildren, Nathan, Magdalena, Marley and Max.

FUNERAL SERVICES

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, January 31st at 5:00 P.M.

Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at

Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, February 1st at 9:00 A.M.

Interment will follow mass at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
