It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Gloria Ortiz, on Saturday, November 18, 2023.  Gloria was born August 11, 1926. She was lifelong resident of San Antonio, Texas.

Gloria graduated from St. Patrick's Academy High School. After graduating from high school, she enrolled in the Santa Rosa School of Nursing. She continued her education at the University of the Incarnate Word where she earned a Bachelor of Nursing degree. She worked at the Santa Rosa Hospital for 10 years then spent the rest of her career days working at Wilford Hall from where she retired.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Beatrice Ortiz, her sister, Rebecca Gomez, Kenosha, Wisconsin and brother, Edward Ortiz.

She is survived by two sisters, Hortense Acosta, Helotes, Texas, Evangeline Acosta and three brothers, George Ortiz Jr., Gilbert Ortiz and Richard Ortiz.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 30th at 6:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm at the Angelus Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, December 1st at 10:00am at St. Luke's Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery # 2.
