Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Gloria Acosta Kyle passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, surrounded by her family.
She was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 23, 1941 to her wonderful parents Pedro and Jesusita Susie Acosta. She joins her dear family members in heaven to include brothers and sisters, Mary Esqueda, Joe Acosta Sr., Connie Beigi, Pedro (Pete) Acosta Jr., Armando Acosta Sr. (Paco), Adelita Burgos.
Gloria loved to travel. She has been to Europe and numerous states. The cruise was her favorite way to vacation. She was an avid bowler and participated in league bowling in Plano, Texas; her husband, Colin Kyle was her instructor. They both bowled weekly with friends and their grandchildren. Gloria and Colin also enjoyed dancing at the Plano Senior Center where she volunteered.
We are comforted that she was a devoted Catholic. She had a special devotion to our Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary and always had a rosary in her presence. Her faith took her to Philadelphia in 2015 for the visit of Pope Francis. She also attended the visit of Pope John Paul II in September 1987.
She is survived by her husband Colin, her children Linda Cantu, Alma Escamilla, Ruben Escamilla Jr., step-children Marc Kyle and Brandi Norris, sisters-in-law Rosie Williams (Uncle Skeet Williams), Delma Wilson and our Tia Anita Acosta; numerous nieces and nephews who surrounded her with love and she considered her own. She treasured our Richardson family abroad in the Netherlands (Holland) and also our Gutierrez family in Del Rio Texas, family of Raymond Gutierrez.
Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. Roxanne, Mercedes, Maya, Sofia, Max, Felix, Keira, Preston, Addison, Amanda and Ainsley were adored by Grandma and she boasted about their every accomplishment. These children were never too old to hold hands with Grandma.
