Gloria F. Johnson, aged 89, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2020 in San Antonio TX. Gloria was born in San Antonio, TX on October 10, 1930. She attended Brackenridge High School and worked in the clerical and secretarial fields throughout her work career. She was a very loving wife and mother and was active as a Cub Scout Den Mother in St. Ann's Parish. She served in the Altar Society at her beloved Blessed Sacrament Church.
Gloria worked and retired from the UT Health Science Center Dental School. Gloria was a member of the National Secretaries Association for many years. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Federico Fuentes and Esperanza Valdez Fuentes, loving husband Dan, her sister, Sr. Rose Denise Fuentes, The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill, grandson Ian Andrew Trub, and granddaughter Heather Michelle Trub.
Dan and Gloria traveled quite a bit after Dan's career in the Air Force and Air Intelligence Agency. They initially married in Japan and later celebrated their marriage vows in the Catholic Faith. They faithfully attend Blessed Sacrament Church where they made numerous friends among the faithful and clergy. Bowling in leagues and tournaments was one of the activities they enjoyed doing together.
Gloria is survived by her brother Federico Fuentes, Burbank CA, son Lawrence S. Trub (Florencia) and son James Daniel Trub (Cynthia). Her extended family includes members from the Warfield, Trub, Barrera, Gauna, Esparza, Orozco and Querbach families.
Gloria was a loving and generous great, great grandmother who always found a way to make everyone feel her special love. Her home was a gathering place for family get-togethers and fun. She loved to cook and would surprise us with her baked goodies and home cooked meals. Gloria would frequently share recipes, clippings and articles that she thought would be of interest to others.
We would like to thank her doctors, especially Dr. Joseph Marotta and Dr. Hector Gomez for their outstanding care and Josie Nunez for her meals and companionship at the hospital.
