Gladys Rita Garcia born on March 3, 1930, passed away on March 17, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.

Gladys was born in La Paz, Bolivia where she lived with her loving mother, Chela and sisters Rina and Chepy. She left Bolivia to travel the world with her beloved husband of over 50 years, Carlos, who was a member of the U.S. Air Force, becoming a U.S. Citizen shortly after marrying him. Together they lovingly raised three children, Patty, Liz, and Carlos and lived a productive life in the company of family and friends. Gladys was a gifted artist who enjoyed arts and crafts including, painting, sewing, embroidering, crocheting, knitting baby clothing to gift to pregnant mothers, and creating beautiful quilts in the company of her quilting club at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Altar Society and other social church groups. She loved to cook and created savory international dishes for all to enjoy!

She leaves behind her three children, daughter-in-law Carol, 3 grandsons, Carlos, Thomas, and Andrew married to Maddie, and a great granddaughter, Callie. In addition, she leaves behind Joe Chambers, her loving brother-in-law, and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

We will all miss Gladys, a beautiful, strong, positive, and devout Catholic woman, full of love and compassion for those around her.
