Our beloved Gilberto Cantu Sosa, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, cherished uncle and friend to all that knew him passed away peacefully in San Antonio TX at the age of 81 on Saturday, February 1, 2025.

Gilberto was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Olga Angelina Sosa, his son, Gilbert Sosa Jr., his parents, Mattias Pedrasza Sosa and Maria Cantu Sosa, his brothers Ricardo and Mattias Sosa Jr., and his sisters, Corina and Otila Sosa.  He is survived by his daughter, Veronica Sosa Schubert (David), his son Reynaldo Javier Sosa (Stephanie), his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was born in San Antonio, TX on July 3rd 1943. Growing up, Gilbert was a natural learner and jack-of-all trades. He was a "techie" and always enjoyed the latest and greatest gadgets from computers to iPhone's to all electronics. His hobbies included tinkering with his vehicles, going fishing and Sunday drives in the hill country with his beloved Olga. He was a wonderful dancer and loved spending time with his friends at the VFW. He enjoyed family camping trips with his wife Olga and their children, and spoke fondly of his times traveling to Colorado, Mexico and Hawaii.

Gilberto graduated from Fox Technical High School where he met and married his sweetheart Olga Angelina Aranda. His first job was as a graphic artist with Sommer's Drugstore. He then moved on to build an illustrious career with UTSA Health Science Center, retiring 30+ years as the Director of Multimedia & Web Services.

Gilberto's family will miss him greatly but find comfort knowing that he is reunited with his loving wife, son, and parents with our Lord in heaven.
