Gilbert Palos Jr, 68, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2022, with his loving children, wife, and grandchildren by his side.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Montemayor Palos Sr and Josie Paez, to include his stepfather, Jose Lua Sr.
Gilbert is survived by his children, Veronica Palos, Monica Reyes (Richard Reyes), and Gilbert Palos III (Alaina Palos). He is also survived by his wife, Maria Luisa Palos and 6 grandchildren, Alexzandria Reyes, Joseph Palos, Kimberly Palos (Kyle Galiendes), Dominique Palos, Victoria Palos, and Jasmin Martinez.
As a young man, Gilbert exceled in all aspects of life but his love for sports, fishing, and hunting were undeniable. He was an amazing athlete but overall, he was well known in the softball community for his defensive ability and homerun power. Gilbert dedicated most of his early fatherhood to the softball/baseball diamond as he tried passing those traits along to his children while also including family hunting and fishing outings at every chance possible. Gilbert was devoted to his family, from the countless hours spent under the lights at the sporting complex, to the multitude of hours worked on any given day, to the drives out of town or across country, all just to provide the best life experiences and opportunities for his family.
Gilbert's hard work, tireless work ethic, and dedication to every part of life is a direct reflection of his children's success to which they continue to emulate daily. He was always the brightest star, the life of a party, and a selfless person.
The world is a little less bright now, but we look forward to seeing you again in the afterlife Dad.
