Obituary

Gilbert James Clark, Sr. was born in Junction City, Kansas, one of 10 children born to Stephen and Gertrude Clark. He attended Gesu Catholic School in Miami, Florida before joining the Army in 1943 at the age of 17. Gilbert received honors for his service during WWII, most notably 3 Bronze Stars for valor and heroism under enemy fire.

After the war, Gilbert came to San Antonio where he met the love of his life, Gloria. They were married for 67 years, raising 3 children in a home that Gilbert built himself. He worked in construction and as an independent oil producer. Gilbert was devoted to his family and especially loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He proudly celebrated his 90th birthday earlier this year.
