Geraldine (Persyn) Dausin, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a proud native of San Antonio; passed away peacefully to be with her heavenly father on September 23, 2017.
Geraldine was born in San Antonio, Texas August 4, 1927 to Leo and Marie Persyn. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Marie Persyn, her husband, Edward M. Dausin; sons, Duane E. and Chris B. Dausin. She is survived by her children, Denise Dausin, Beverly Dausin, Ronald & Irene Dausin, Bryan & Lisa Dausin, Steve & Lisa Dausin, Randall & Tracy Dausin; and sister, Rosie Aelvoet; along with eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Geraldine loved her Lord and Savior. She was especially proud of her Belgium roots, she would often say "She was made in Belgium and born in Texas." She was instrumental in forming The Belgium American Club of Texas. She loved to tell her children stories of bringing the farm produce to market downtown and reminisce about how much San Antonio has changed throughout her years. "Gerry" maintained a very active life by bowling twice a week with her Belgium group.
Always motivated by her servant's heart, she volunteered at N.E. Baptist Hospital for over 20 years, and worked weekly at Christian Assistance Ministry (CAM), often recruiting her grandchildren to join her. She also enjoyed fun excursions trying her hand at gambling with her dearest friends. Gerry was a member of St. Joseph Society Woman's Guild and St. John Neumann Altar Society.
Geraldine was loved by all that knew her and will be greatly missed.
'Well done, my good and faithful servant".
