Gerald F. Janert (Jerry) was born in San Antonio, TX on 17 January 1939, and passed away on 27 November 2022. He graduated from Central Catholic High School, St. Mary's University, and Our Lady of the Lake University. During his lifetime, Jerry coached CYO, taught and coached at St. Augustine's in Laredo, in Falls City, and in the San Antonio ISD at Poe and Harris Middle Schools and at Lanier and Burbank High Schools. While at Burbank, he coached his football team to a 10-0 season, winning district. Jerry completed his education career with the Northside ISD.

He married Edwinna Kirkpatrick in 1964 and they enjoyed 51 years of marriage. Jerry was a coach, social studies educator, sports referee, avid scuba diver, and great friend to many and will be dearly missed. Jerry is survived by his brothers Ronald Janert (Pauline), Robert Janert (Annette); sister Grace Crumbie, and numerous nephews and nieces.
