George Franco, born February 22, 1926, was called home by the Lord on Saturday morning, February 14, 2015. George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years and one grandson. He is survived by three daughters, Irene (Roger) Perales, Sylvia (Kevin) Rice, and Diana (Rick) Gerdes; two sons, Roy (Ana) Franco, and George Franco; seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters and one brother. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 18, at 4:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, February 19, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 125 W. Whittier. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, at 11:00 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Special thanks to our sister, Diana and her husband Rick, for taking good care of Dad in the last few months of his quick deterioration. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Raymond and Ruben Perales, Roy, Michael, Enrique, and George Franco. Taps will be provided by grandson Roman Perales.
