Obituary

Our beloved husband, father and friend, Fred Moreno, Jr. age 61 of San Antonio passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016. He retired from the US Army after 20 years of service. Even after his retirement he continued to work for the military as an IT Specialist for USA MEDCOM, US Army Health Contracting Activity. While working as an IT Specialist he earned his MBA specializing in computers, but sadly due to his health he had to retire after 22 years, which makes it a total of 42 years of working for the US government.

Fred had a passion for music and art. He was able to play the piano, guitar, trumpet and even dabbled in playing the violin. His music collection ranged from classical to rock to latin and even country. He also enjoyed going to concerts, operas and composed his own music which he played for us.

He made people laugh with his unique brand of humor and loved to travel. He has been to Europe, Latin America, South Korea, and all over the states.

Fred was also an accomplished athlete. He had a love for running and showed it through competing in track and field events which included marathons, cross-country events, and many other types of long distance races.

He loved to share his time with others. Fred spent many years coaching youths in basketball and soccer leagues.   He even volunteered his time to help San Fernando Cathedral start up their web site.

He is survived by his wife, Ana I. Moreno; son, Deryck Moreno; parents: Alfredo and Ventura Moreno; sisters: Estella Foshey and Maria St. Myers; brothers: Luis Moreno and Roberto Moreno. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. May his soul forever rest in peace.
