Obituary

Frank passed peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Frank was born to Italian Immigrant parents, Sam and Erma Baldrigini Pantuso in San Antonio, TX. Being raised in by what was known as "The Italian Colony," he attended Jefferson High School where he was an outstanding athlete. Playing most all sports to include football and playing alongside the likes of NFL Hall of Famer, Kyle Rote. Gaining the nickname Grasshopper' due to his thin physic and speed. Frank's athleticism gained him a scholarship to Laredo Jr. College. At college, he participated in The Border Olympics winning a gold medal in the High Jump. After college, Frank returned to San Antonio where he worked at Frost Bank. There is where he met the "Love of his Life for over 64 years," Anna Laura Collins. They married on February 14, 1951. This was at the same time the Korean Conflict was on going and Frank joined the Army a month later. After his stint in the Army, it was family time, which family was the most important thing to Frank. Frank and Ann had three children, Terri (Mike Robinson), Becky (Eddie Ibarra), and Paul (Kelli). The children blessed Frank and Ann with 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Frank's 33 year career with Prudential Insurance gained him many honors and awards. During the years at Prudential, Frank and his buddies always had their yearly hunting trips to Mason, TX. One of Frank's favorite places to enjoy his Mexican Food was the Little House Cafe' across from the Bexar County Court House. After his retirement, Frank continued with his athletic abilities. Running in numerous marathons and participating in the Senior Olympics in the event of the High Jump where he was noted for in his younger days. But family time was the most important thing in life, enjoying his pool with family and barbecuing. In August 2004, Frank suffered a stroke during a medical procedure which paralyzed the right side of his body and took his speech. Frank continued on, never quitting, moving about on his scooter within his home and letting you know what he wanted with some pretty cool gestures. The last few months of his life, Frank's spirit never lingered, enjoying his days with family and friends to the best of his ability. The family wishes to thank those who gave special care and attention, Grace Hospice and Heartland Hospice. Many special thanks to Dr. Marc Schwartz's dedication who took the extra steps to make Frank's life as comfortable as possible until his final day. Visitation will begin on Sunday, March 22nd at 4:00 P.M. in The Angelus Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 P.M.
