Frank "Frankie" was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 20 th , 1947 to Evelyn Morin Garcia and Frank Mata Garcia. He attended St. Theresa Academy where he served as an altar boy. Frankie was a proud graduate of the 1965 Class of Fox Tech High School.

He enjoyed playing soccer during his early retirement years at the area soccer league. He reveled getting together with his brothers and sister on Sundays to watch football games. He was a dedicated Houston Oilers fan despite being outnumbered by his siblings who cheered on the Dallas Cowboys.

Frankie had another passion and that was his salsa dancing. He delighted in showing off his salsa moves every week at the Officers Club. Frankie also cherished his time at family gatherings, getting together for barbeques, playing volleyball, and celebrating his cousins' birthdays at their favorite restaurant.

He had a great devotion to his Catholic faith and recited the rosary every evening before his bedtime, something he was taught by his Grandmother Morin, which he continued throughout his life. Frankie was a great brother and uncle.
