Florence Solis Casarez, age 83, went to be with our Lord on Monday, May 31, 2021.  She was born on July 23, 1937, and lived her entire life in San Antonio, Texas.

Florence was born to Hilario and Teresa Solis.  She graduated from Providence Catholic High School in May 1956 and three months later she began her life-long job career with the City of San Antonio Health Department Division from where she retired after 50 years.

She married the love of her life Carlos Casarez on November 21, 1959 and were married for 60 years.  Florence and Carlos had three beautiful children: Sylvia, Charles and Melinda.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Hilario and Teresa Solis; husband, Carlos; daughters, Sylvia Valle, Melinda A. Casarez; and her siblings, Socorro Solis, Frances Alvarado, Sr. Philip Solis, MCM, and Hilario Solis, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Charles A. Casarez (Patricia); grandchildren, Jacob O. Rincon, Christian J. Rincon, Charles A. Casarez II, Noah A. Casarez, Scott A. Hammel, Elena J. Hammel, Carlos Mendez, Jr.; son-in-law, Carlos Valle; sister, Theresa A. Solis; brothers: John A. Solis and Benigno S. Solis; numerous nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICES

Visitation will begin on Sunday, June 6, at 4:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 5:00 P.M. at The Angelus Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 7, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian.
