Mrs. Evangelina E. Garcia was called by her Lord to eternal rest on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the age of 89 surrounded by her loving family. Evangelina was a loving wife and devoted mother to her 5 sons. Her family meant everything to her and she touched the lives of all who knew her. She enjoyed working in real estate for many years. Her favorite past times were bingo, gardening and spending time with her family. Evangelina was preceded in death by her husband, Dave R. Garcia and a grandson, Michael. She is survived by her sons: David Garcia Jr. and wife Diana, Albert Garcia, Charles Garcia, John Garcia and wife Dena, Michael Garcia and wife Elvira; sisters: Maxine Palacios, Zoila Flores and her husband David; sister-in-law, Ninfa Chavez Humble; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin Thursday at 6:15 P.M. at St. Ann's Catholic Church with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be offered Friday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No.2. The family would like to give special thanks to the staffs of Morningside Manor, the Village at Incarnate Word and Parklane West for the compassionate care given to Evangelina.
