Esther Cadena Maldonado, age 98 years passed into eternal rest at home on January 21, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Ramiro Maldonado, her own parents, and two beloved sisters, Carolina Cadena Maldonado and Henrietta Cadena Farias.

She is survived by four children: Ernestine (Michael J.) Cook, Edward Maldonado, Rosemary M. Muniz, Sandra Ann (Michael A.) Valenzuela; 6 beloved grandchildren: Robert E. Muniz, Christine R. Muniz, Michael A. Valenzuela, Sara M. Valenzuela, Linda C. Cook and Michael W.J. Cook; 3 great-grandchildren: Chaylin A. Clark, Marina R. Muniz and Camila Muniz.

Mrs. Maldonado was a devoted wife and mother, and an amazing grandmother. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Even in her final days, her beautiful smile and encouraging words warmed our hearts.

Serving as pallbearers will be:  Robert E. Muniz, Michael A. Valenzuela, Michael W. J. Cook, Shawn McGuire, Jesse Orosco and Mark Silva.
