Esteban "Steve" Lerma, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 27, 2020.

Esteban will be remembered for his work ethic which he demonstrated by working as a salesman for Lance, Inc. for 30 years. After retirement he continued to work as a parking attendant downtown.   He instilled commitment to his family in everything he did.  He took pride in everything he did because it was sure to be done with love, care, and the right way!  He did tireless yard work at home and his children's homes, it was something he enjoyed.

He loved joking around and making light of everything.  His personality was magnetic and could make friends with a stranger in just a minute.  He will be missed terribly but we are comforted that he is in heaven with the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Daria Lerma; sisters, Reynalda L. Gomez, Virginia L. Marroquin, Enedina L. Cantu, Cayetana L. Diaz, and Francisca Sanchez; brothers, Ramon Lerma and Leno Lerma.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Celia Lerma; daughter, Minnie Benavides (Andy); son, Benito Lerma (Yvonne); and 3 grandchildren who knew him as "PoPo", Amanda Benavides, Daniel Benavides, and Stephanie Lerma.  He is also survived by one sister, Genoveva L. Jimenez of Laredo, TX.

The family must regretfully limit attendance at the funeral services to immediate family due to health and safety concerns.  We thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
