Mrs. Ernestine R. Jaramillo age 89 of San Antonio passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 and was joyfully reunited in heaven before our Lord and Savior with her beloved husband Darel.
Early in her life, she was a dedicated and selfless family woman who put others needs ahead of her own. After losing her mother as a teenager, she had a huge hand in assisting with the upbringing of her siblings. She attended Fox Tech High School, successfully graduated and married her high school sweetheart Darel Dennis Jaramillo. Ernestine was a devoted housewife, mother, and was encouraged and supported to continue her education and pursue higher knowledge to lead as an example to her children, and generations after them that anything was possible with faith, perseverance, and a strong support system.
Tina, as all her friends and family so lovingly called her, continued courses at San Antonio Junior College, and completed courses at Durham Business College. Often Tina was the sole parent caring for Joyce, Darel Dennis, and James Darick while Darel was stationed overseas, or away on assigned duties with the Air Force. She took on the role of parent, student, friend, and family member for those in need.
Tina worked at Valero Energy Corporation for many years, eventually retiring from the company after many successful years of work with tremendous amounts of friendships built. Tina excelled in all she did and was a prime example of what excellence was always a trait she believed all of her children and grandchildren were capable of and she always encouraged and pushed them in any way she knew how.
Tina was always willing to be a part of something bigger. Her faith could move mountains, and she tried to instill that faith in all she knew. She had countless Godchildren and friends that knew her intentions. Tina served on the Altar Society and served on many committees that enhanced parishes through fundraising activities. Prayer was the most powerful tool in Tina's life. Until her last breath, she remained a loyal servant to our Lord and Savior. Tina will be missed by all who knew and loved her, and there will forever be a missing piece of our heart here on earth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darel Dennis Jaramillo, and is survived by her siblings Olivia R. Sanchez (Steve III), Henry Ramos, Maria Petra Pais (Bill), along with her children, Joyce Valdez (David), Darel Dennis II (Gina), James (Leslie); granddaughters, Deniece Juarez (Miguel), Domonique Vaughan (James), Kristen, Elyse, Shannon Leone; grandsons, Ethan, Abraham and Xavier Juarez; great-grandchildren, Lilliana, Leia, and Luke Juarez, and Liam Leone and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
