Obituary

Ernest Villalobos passed away at home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, just two months shy of his 75th birthday. He was born on December 30, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, where he also grew up and attended school.

Ernest was preceded in death by his beloved husband, Randy Leal, who passed away in August 2021. Ernest and Randy met in early 1983 and quickly became inseparable. They were married on June 18, 2016, and shared 42 wonderful years together as the love of each other's lives.

Ernest dedicated nearly five decades to a successful career in the retail merchandising industry, working in both retail sales and management for about 47 years. His work took him and Randy to Overland Park, Kansas, for a time before they eventually returned home to San Antonio. Ernest was a natural in his field. He knew his merchandise, loved connecting with customers, and had a gift for making people feel at ease.

Those who knew Ernest will remember him as a true charmer, energetic, outgoing, and full of life. Whether at work or at home, he was always on the move, enjoying the finer things in life and embracing every moment. He and Randy were beach lovers who found joy in being near the ocean, surrounded by friends and family. Ernest's laughter, humor, and warmth made him a joy to be around.

Ernest was not only a devoted husband and friend but also a confidant and mentor to many. His kindness, wisdom, and generosity touched countless lives.

Ernest is gone but will never be forgotten. His free spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all.

Ernest was preceded in death by his husband, Randy Leal, his mother, Evangeline Martinez Villalobos, his father, Frank J. Villalobos, Sr.

Ernest is survived by his sister, Julie V. White (John), brother, Frank J. Villalobos, Jr., sister, Rita Martinez (Robert); their fur baby Chula; numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
